Grossi says plans to discuss Zaporozhye NPP situation with Zelensky

KURCHATOV, Kursk region. Aug 27 (Interfax) - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi said he plans to discuss the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

Grossi told reporters on Tuesday that he would speak with Zelensky about the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP, and the presence of IAEA inspectors at various nuclear facilities in Ukraine, given that the Ukrainian government has asked the agency to enhance such a presence.

He also said he would discuss the current situation at nuclear facilities with Zelensky.

The need to continue a dialogue with the Russian president will be highlighted at the meeting, as such communication channels must remain open and interaction must continue, Grossi said.

He will travel to Kiev after visiting the Kursk region.
