VORONEZH. Aug 27 (Interfax) - The Shebekino urban district in Russia's Belgorod region has been shelled from the Ukrainian side, Belgorod region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

"Shebekino and Novaya Tavolzhanka have been shelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Preliminarily, casualties were avoided," Gladkov wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.

In Shebekino, a shell set fire to the roof of a single-family house, and firefighters began putting it out, he said.

The attacks also damaged windows, exteriors, and roofs of eight other single-family houses and outbuildings, cutting a power line feeding one of them. Two cars were also damaged.

In Novaya Tavolzhanka, a direct hit set fire to an outbuilding of a single-family house, which was promptly extinguished, he said.
