Investigators file for arrest of former Russian Deputy DM Popov - court

MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - The 235th Garrison Military Court has registered an investigator's motion for the arrest of former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Gen. of the Army in Reserve Pavel Popov, detained on fraud counts, the court's press service told Interfax on Thursday.

"An investigator has filed a motion with the court for placing Popov under arrest," the press service said.

The court is expected to process the motion shortly.
