Russian Defense Ministry: Ukrainian forces lose almost 7,800 troops since beginning of hostilities in Kursk sector

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - Ukrainian forces have lost over 380 troops in the Kursk sector in the past 24 hours, bringing their overall casualties to nearly 7,800, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

"In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 380 troops and 22 pieces of armored hardware, including one tank and 21 armored combat vehicles, as well as an artillery system, two mortars, an electronic countermeasures station, and eight trucks," the statement said.

In total, Ukrainian forces have lost over 7,800 troops, 75 tanks, 36 infantry vehicles, 64 armored personnel carriers, 507 armored combat vehicles, 235 trucks and 53 artillery systems since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk sector, it said.

In addition, 15 multiple rocket launchers including four HIMARS and one MLRS, five air defense systems, 11 electronic countermeasures stations, one counterbattery radar, one air defense radar, and five engineering vehicles have been either destroyed or hit, it said.
