Russian Defense Ministry reports striking Ukrainian units near 16 communities in Kursk region

MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has reported striking Ukrainian units near 16 communities in the Kursk region and Ukrainian army reserves in 14 districts of the Sumy region.

"Airstrikes, artillery fire, and troops' moves have inflicted damage on concentrations of personnel and hardware of the 22nd and 61st Mechanized Brigades, the 82nd and 95th Air Assault Brigades, and the 152nd Chasseurs Brigade [of the Ukrainian Armed Forces], the 1st National Guard Brigade, and the 1004th Escort Brigade near the communities of Apanasovka, Borki, Vishnevka, Gordeyevka, Lyubimovka, Lebedevka, Martynovka, Mikhailovka, Malaya Loknya, Desyaty Oktyabr, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Russkoye Porechnoye, Snagost, and Yuzhny," the ministry said in a statement on Monday

Russian forces are carrying out search and reconnaissance operations in local forests to destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces sabotage groups, it said.

"Tactical aircraft carried out strikes in the Sumy region on concentrations of reserve personnel and hardware of the 22nd, 41st and 54th Mechanized Brigades, the 17th Tank Brigade, and the 82nd Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the 1st National Guard Brigade, the 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 101st, 103rd, 119th, and 129th Territorial Defense Brigades near the communities of Belopolye, Basy, Velikaya Pisarevka, Glukhov, Luka, Katerinovka, Orlovka, Svessa, Chervonoprapornoye, Sumy, Khoten, Esman, Yunakovka, and Yastrebinoye," the statement said.
