Russian-Tajik relations progressively developing in spirit of alliance - Putin

MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram to his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon to congratulate him on Tajikistan's Independence Day, the Kremlin website said.

"Relations between our states have been progressively developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. Russia and Tajikistan are fruitfully cooperating in various areas and actively interacting within the CIS, the CSTO, the SCO, the UN and other multilateral bodies," Putin said in the telegram published on the Kremlin website on Monday.

Moscow and Dushanbe will ensure the further growth of the entire range of their constructive bilateral relations through joint efforts, Putin said. "Undoubtedly, this meets the fundamental interests of our friendly peoples and contributes to the strengthening of security and stability in Central Asia," Putin said.

Putin wished good health and success to Rahmon, and peace and prosperity to Tajik citizens.
