Washington's statement on Ukrainian strikes deep into Russian territory to add risks facing U.S. itself - Russian deputy FM

MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Washington's statement concerning the lifting of restrictions on Ukrainian strikes deep into the Russian territory will add risks facing the United States itself, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"The messages and actions we are observing have an escalation nature, so this statement will not change our course, while adding risks and dangers, including those facing the U.S., its allies, clients, satellites and wards, no matter where they are," the Izvestia newspaper quoted Ryabkov as saying.

Such statements are an attempt to exert psychological influence on Russia in terms of the achievement of special military operation goals, he said.

"This is an element of psychological warfare, which, in turn, is part of hybrid warfare waged by Washington on our state," Ryabkov said.

If the U.S. wants to bolster national security, it should stop making "provocative statements" of the kind and abstain from supplies that may provoke Kiev to take steps leading to further escalation, he said.
