MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - The governments of Russia and Laos have signed an updated military cooperation agreement.
According to the document published on the official website of legal information on Friday, the agreement was signed in Moscow on August 13, 2024.
"From the day the agreement takes effect, the agreement on cooperation between the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation and the Defense Ministry of the Lao People's Democratic Republic of November 28, 1996, is terminated," the document said.
Russia and Laos have agreed to cooperate in the organization of daily activities and combat training of forces, exchange of practices in operation, repair and upgrade of weapons, military and special hardware, exchange of practices in training of military personnel, and exchange of information for intensifying the fight against terrorism.
The agreement envisages participation in military exercises or presence at such as observers, joint operational and combat training, and postings of humanitarian demining specialists.
