MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Moscow considers the transfer of six Russian firefighting helicopters to Ukraine as a hostile step taken by Lisbon, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"We consider the transfer of these aircraft to the Kiev regime as another hostile step towards our country in line with the criminal policies of the 'collective West' to wage a hybrid war against Russia and drag out the conflict in Ukraine," she told reporters when commenting on the Portuguese authorities' decision.
Such actions taken by Portugal further deepen the crisis in Russian-Portuguese relations, which were once based on mutual respect and regard for each other's interests, Zakharova said.
The Portuguese authorities' decision on the Russian firefighting helicopters was published back in October 2022, she said.
