Armenia's territorial claims, growing militarization impede peace process - Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry

BAKU. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Turkey's special envoy for normalization of ties with Armenia, Serdar Kilic, on Friday to discuss their countries' normalization processes with Yerevan, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

Regarding Baku's talks with Yerevan, Bayramov stressed that Armenia's ongoing territorial claims on Azerbaijan, which are also enshrined in its legislation, and its growing militarization supported by third countries are a threat to regional security and an obstacle to the peace process, the ministry said.

"At their meeting in Baku, Bayramov and Kilic discussed the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, the post-conflict situation in the region, the negotiations between the Turkish and Armenian special envoys on normalizing Ankara-Yerevan ties, and regional and international security issues," it said.
