MINSK. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Belarus has conducted experimental launches of Grad MLRS projectiles upgraded to a high-precision level, the country's State Authority for Military Industry said in a statement on Friday.
"One of our enterprises, jointly with Belarusian Armed Forces representatives, conducted experimental launches of Grad MLRS 122mm projectiles fitted with a high-accuracy guidance package with a flight range of up to 20km," it said.
"The upgrade of standard Grad projectiles to high-precision ones substantially reduces munition consumption for target attainment," it said.
In the future, the package could be installed on projectiles with a flight range of up to 40km, the authority said.
