Russian military records 13 violations of Syrian airspace by U.S.-led coalition in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition continue to create dangerous situations in the Syrian airspace, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Capt. 1st rank Oleg Ignasyuk said.

"Nine violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of the coalition's unmanned aerial vehicles uncoordinated with the Russian sides were observed over the past day," Ignasyuk said at a press briefing on Sunday.

"Four violations of the Syrian airspace by a pair of F-15 fighter jets and a pair of A-10 attack planes of the coalition were recorded in the past 24 hours" in the al-Tanf area, he said.

Such actions of the coalition continue to pose the risk of aviation incidents and accidents and to escalate tensions in the Syrian airspace, Ignasyuk said.
