Russian-Laotian military exercise Laros 2024 starts in Primorye Territory

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 17 (Interfax) - Russia and Laos are beginning the Laros 2024 joint military exercise at a range in Russia's Eastern Military District in Primorye Territory, the district's press service said in a statement.

"On Tuesday, military transport planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered members of the Lao People's Armed Forces to Russia," the statement said.

The opening ceremony of the exercise will take place on the drill square of a field camp on Wednesday, it said.

Russian troops will share their experience from the special military operation during the drills, it said.

"Over 20 training sites have been equipped at the range to practice storming strong points, trenches, and dugouts and passing tactical army shooting qualification tests," it said.

The exercise will be held in two stages. The first stage is designed to practice taking control of a populated area, and during the second one a joint force will be trained to destroy an illegal armed unit, the statement said.
