MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has estimated the Ukrainian Armed Forces' aggregate losses in the Kursk sector at over 14,200 troops, including up to 400 people in the past 24 hours alone.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' aggregate losses amounted to up to 400 troops and 19 armored vehicles, including four tanks, one Swedish-made CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle, and 14 armored fighting vehicles, as well as five artillery pieces, five mortars, six automobiles, and a combat engineering vehicle," the ministry said.
Over the entire period of fighting in the Kursk area, the Ukrainian army has lost over 14,200 troops, 119 tanks, 45 infantry fighting vehicles, 91 armored personnel carriers, 743 armored fighting vehicles, 445 automobiles, 103 artillery pieces, 28 multiple rocket launchers including seven HIMARS and six MLRS made in the U.S., eight air defense missile launchers, four transporting and loading machines, 26 electronic warfare stations, seven weapon locating radars, two air defense radars, and 14 items of engineering equipment including eight combat engineering vehicles and one UR-77 mine-clearing vehicle," it said.
"The operation to destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces formations is continuing," it said.
