Toropets in Russia's Tver region undergoing partial evacuation due to drone attack

MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax) - The town of Toropets in the Tver region is subject to partial evacuation given the air raid alert and effort to contain a fire, the region's governor Igor Rudenya said.

"Seeking to ensure public security, Tver region governor Igor Rudenya approved partial evacuation of the area where air defense is working and a fire is being contained," a statement on the regional government's Telegram channel said on Wednesday.

Air defense is repelling a mass drone strike, and a fire sparked by drone debris is being contained in Toropets, the statement said.
