DUSHANBE. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov arrived in Dushanbe on Wednesday to take part in a meeting of the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council, an Interfax correspondent reported.
During the visit, Krasnov will also meet with his foreign counterparts, who have arrived in Dushanbe for the council's meeting. In addition, members of the Russian delegation will visit Dushanbe universities to give lectures on the fight against corruption.
Krasnov will start his visit by laying flowers at the No One is Forgotten. Nothing is Forgotten Monument in memory of people who perished during the Great Patriotic War.
The Interstate Anti-Corruption Council was created in 2013. It includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The Russian prosecutor general currently chairs it.
The council is in charge of international cooperation in combating corruption. Its main tasks include determining the priorities of such cooperation, taking joint effective measures against corruption, assessing the member states' compliance with their anti-corruption obligations, and coordinating technical assistance programs as part of the fight against corruption.
