Russian Prosecutor General's Office stepping up cooperation with Tajikistan to prevent terror attacks, radicalization of youngsters

DUSHANBE. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov has called closer antiterrorism cooperation with Tajikistan important.

"I fully share your opinion on the need to pool efforts towards the prevention of terror attacks. It is important to deepen interstate cooperation, especially the combined efforts to prevent the drawing of our young people into the ranks of radicals," Krasnov said at a meeting with Tajik Prosecutor General Rahmon Yusuf Ahmadzoda on Thursday.

The implementation of a new cooperation program signed by the two prosecutors on Thursday will contribute to that, Krasnov said.

In particular, the cooperation program envisages consultations on the protection of rights of socially disadvantaged citizens and a roundtable on the countering of terrorism and extremism, in which Iranian representatives will take part, in 2025.

In 2026, the prosecution services will share practices in the oversight of the compliance with laws in transport and customs, and will address the countering of tax, financial and banking crimes at a roundtable.
