Azerbaijani FM calls on Armenia to take steps to clear remaining obstacles to signing peace treaty

BAKU. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has called on Armenia to show its political will to conclude the peace talks.

"Building upon the progress that was made through bilateral negotiations, we call [on Armenia] for expeditious actions to address the remaining impediments and underline the importance of exercising necessary political will and responsibility," the Foreign Ministry's press service quoted Bayramov as saying at the Summit of the Future in New York.

As previously reported, Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed 80% of the text of their draft peace treaty.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said earlier in September that if Armenia and Azerbaijan continue to wait until all possible issues between them are resolved, the peace treaty will never be signed.
