Israel-Lebanon situation dangerous in terms of conflict's possible expansion, region's complete destabilization - Kremlin (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Moscow is very worried about the situation caused by Israeli strikes on Lebanon, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Of course, this is a potentially very dangerous event [for] the conflict's expansion and the complete destabilization of the region. Of course, we are extremely worried and concerned. That's for starters. It is hard to speak about any prospects for a settlement for now," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

For now, the peace track "has been practically monopolized by one country," he said.

"Regretfully, any success is out of the equation. So, we cannot speak about any prospects just yet, which probably makes the situation even more potentially dangerous," Peskov said.

The Israeli Air Force struck around 1,600 Hezbollah targets on Monday as part of Operation Arrows of the North, killing at least 492 people, including women, children and medical personnel, and injuring over 1,600.

Hezbollah launched over 200 missiles at Israel in retaliation.
