NEW YORK, UN. Sept 25 (Interfax) - UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for efforts towards settling the Ukraine crisis to be stepped up at a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
"Let us intensify our efforts to seek peace in Ukraine," Guterres said on Tuesday.
The UN is ready to support any efforts to this end, he said.
"It is time for a just peace based on the UN Charter, on international law and on UN resolutions," Guterres said at the opening ceremony of the UN General Assembly session earlier on Tuesday.
