MINSK. Sept 25 (Interfax) - The Lithuanian Airspace Surveillance and Control Command is holding an exercise near the border with Russia's Kaliningrad region, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry's press service said in a statement on Wednesday.
"A tactical field exercise of the Airspace Surveillance and Control Command, Akylas Sakalas [Vigilant Falcon] 2024, is taking place on September 25-28. Vehicles will drive by roads in the Klaipeda and Marijampole counties and soldiers will use training ammunition, but the life of civilians will not be disrupted," the statement said.
A key objective of the exercise is tactical marches and redeployments of mobile radars, with an emphasis on the security of checkpoints and containment of various kinds of incidents at temporary positions, it said.
