Russian, Indian FMs discuss bilateral cooperation, int'l agenda, Ukraine crisis - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar have discussed bilateral cooperation, international matters, including those related to the settlement of the Ukraine crisis, at a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly events in New York, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

"The foreign ministers discussed key matters of bilateral cooperation, current issues on the international agenda, including the preparations for the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, the process of resolving the Ukraine crisis, as well as the situation in the Asia-Pacific region amid attempts by Western countries to export elements of NATO bodies to the region," it said.

The parties "agreed to continue coordinating approaches to Russia-India interaction in pivotal multilateral formats," it said.

Lavrov has already met with his counterparts from China and Malta, and delivered a speech at the G20 foreign ministers' meeting.
