MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost over 17,700 troops in the Kursk sector, including more than 330 in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.
"Over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 330 troops, 16 pieces of armored hardware, including one tank, two armored personnel carriers and 13 armored combat vehicles, as well as an artillery system, an electronic countermeasures station, a counter-battery radar, and eight trucks," the ministry said.
Three Ukrainian servicemen surrendered, it said.
Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk sector, the Ukrainian army has lost over 17,700 troops, 131 tanks, 62 infantry vehicles, 97 armored personnel carriers, 837 armored combat vehicles, 533 trucks, 143 artillery systems, 31 multiple rocket launchers including eight HIMARS and six MLRS made in the U.S., eight air defense missile launchers, five transporter-loaders, 37 electronic countermeasures stations, nine counter-battery radars, two air defense radars, 18 engineering and other vehicles, including 11 combat engineer vehicles and an UR-77 demining vehicle, and an armored maintenance-and-recovery vehicle.
"The operation aimed at destroying detachments of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is continuing," it said.
