MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have carried out strikes on 12 brigades of the Ukrainian army near 16 communities in the Kursk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
"Army aircraft and artillery fire struck concentrations of troops and hardware of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 21st, 22nd, 41st, 61st and 115th Mechanized Brigades, the 17th Tank Brigade, the 80th and 95th Air Assault Brigades, the 1st National Guard Brigade, the 36th Marine Brigade and the 103rd and 129th Territorial Defense Brigades near Guyevo, Daryino, Kolmakov, Kazachya Loknya, Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Mikhailovka, Medvezhye, Novaya Sorochina, Novy Put, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Pravda, Tolsty Put, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye," it said.
Meanwhile, tactical aircraft and missile forces carried out strikes on the areas of concentration and reserves of ten Ukrainian brigades near Atinskoye, Belovody, Boyaro-Lezhichi, Glukhov, Zhuravka, Zarutskoye, Katerinovka, Kruzhok, Moskalenki, Machulishcha, Novaya Sloboda, Pavlovka, Rovnoye, Ryzhevka, Svessa and Sumy in the Sumy region, it said.
Artillery of the northern group of forces destroyed a Ukrainian infantry vehicle in a border district of the Kursk region on Friday, the ministry said.
"Scouts of the northern group of forces spotted an infantry vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a belt of trees in a border district of the Kursk region. Intelligence was analyzed and a decision was made to fire at the enemy's infantry vehicle," it said.
The Ukrainian infantry vehicle was destroyed by a direct hit, it said.
The footage provided by the Defense Ministry shows the vehicle burning after the explosion.
