NEW YORK. Sept 27 (Interfax) - Russia has solidarity with the people of Lebanon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, Lavrov also offered condolences over people's death in the current sharp aggravation of the conflict between Lebanon and Israel.
Lavrov and Bou Habib met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly High-Level Week.
"I offer my condolences and express our solidarity with the people of Lebanon. And we would be very interested in hearing your views on the events," Lavrov said.
The Lebanese foreign minister said he wanted to inform the Russian side about the current situation in the region.
"We would like to inform you about what is happening now," Bou Habib said.
