CSTO members to analyze biosecurity levels in region

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states will make a joint analysis of biological security levels in the region at Russia's proposal made at a meeting of the Coordination Council of Authorized Bodies of CSTO Member States.

"The meeting agenda envisages an exchange of views on the biological security situation in the CSTO area, summing up joint activities in the biological threats response, and other issues. At the proposal of the Russian side, the authorized bodies of CSTO member states will make a joint analysis of biological security levels in the region," the press service for the Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) said.

Almaty is hosting the fourth meeting of the Coordination Council of Authorized Bodies of CSTO Member States on biological security on September 30, it said. The Russian delegation led by Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova includes representatives of the Security Council, the Foreign Ministry and the Defense Ministry.
