MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - A Russian drone has destroyed a Ukrainian M777 howitzer in the Kursk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"A U.S.-made 155mm M777 howitzer along with its munitions has been destroyed in a direct hit by a Lantset loitering munition," it said.
The camouflaged firing position of the Ukrainian M777 howitzer was uncovered in a border area of the Kursk region during a reconnaissance operation carried out by troops of the northern group of forces, it said.
"After studying the obtained intelligence, a decision was made to strike the enemy's weapon. The crews of unmanned aerial vehicles were monitoring the accuracy of hitting the U.S-made artillery system, which is in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in real time," it said.
