Georgian president meets with EU chiefs in Brussels

TBILISI. Oct 3 (Interfax) - Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili met with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday.

Zourabichvili wrote on social media that she had confirmed to Michel and von der Leyen the Georgian people's commitment to the European path. "I emphasized the decisive role of the moral support given by Europe to our people, for them to not feel isolation," she said, speaking about the European Union leadership expressing its support for the people of Georgia.

Earlier this week, Zourabichvili visited France, Germany, and Poland, meeting with the leaders of these countries.

On Wednesday, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters that Zourabichvili's visits to European capitals were in conflict with the country's constitution, as they had not been coordinated with the Georgian government.
