Russia-China tandem contributes to global stability - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax) - Russia-China relations have reached an unprecedented level, and the Moscow-Beijing tandem contributes to ensuring global stability, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"Bilateral relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level. We are pleased to say that, in the current geopolitical situation, the Russian-Chinese comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction demonstrate absolute stability and continue to facilitate the comprehensive development of our states," Lavrov said at the opening ceremony of an exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China.

"The foreign political tandem of Moscow and Beijing contributes to ensuring global stability and forming a more just multipolar world order," he said.

Russia and China "have managed to build an exemplary model of interstate cooperation," Lavrov said.

"The intense, trusting dialogue on the summit level plays a key role in our multifaceted cooperation. We are looking forward to the visit of the president of the People's Republic of China to the BRICS summit in Kazan," he said.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador in Moscow Zhang Hanhui said that "personal friendship and mutual trust between our leaders are the main driver of the development of our relations."

The leaders of China and Russia have met 44 times, thus contributing to the unprecedentedly high level of bilateral relations, Zhang said.
