Some 71.12% of referendum participants vote for building NPP in Kazakhstan - CEC preliminary results

ASTANA. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Some 71.12% of participants in the October 6 referendum in Kazakhstan have voted for building a nuclear power plant, Kazakh Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chairman Nurlan Abdirov said, citing preliminary information.

"The number of citizens who positively responded to the question put on referendum is 5,561,937, or 71.12%," Abdirov said at a CEC briefing on Monday.
