Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service has info on U.S., UK involvement Nord Stream blasts - Naryshkin

MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service has evidence of the United States' and United Kingdom's involvement in the blowing up of the Nord Stream pipeline, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin said on Monday.

"The Foreign Intelligence Service has credible information on the direct involvement of the United States and the United Kingdom in this major terrorist attack. According to available information, professional saboteurs from the Anglo-Saxon special services were employed in its organization, preparation and perpetration," Naryshkin said at a meeting between the heads of security agencies and special services of CIS states. The text of his speech has been published on the Foreign Intelligence Service website.

"The U.S. administration found it justified to carry out such act of sabotage to guarantee separation of Europe, primarily Germany, from Russia, Naryshkin said.

"Russia has repeatedly requested from the Europeans information on the explosions, but never received it," he said.

"The western media are trying to put the blame on a group of Ukrainian amateur divers, who allegedly acted on their own. However, such theory is targeted at naive philistines," Naryshkin said.
