MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - An appeal will be filed against the sentence handed down to U.S. citizen Stephen Hubbard, convicted for fighting on the side of Ukraine as a mercenary, his lawyer said.
"I will appeal," Hubbard's lawyer told reporters. He did not give any other comment.
The Moscow City Court earlier on Monday sentenced Hubbard to six years and ten months in a general security colony, finding him guilty of participation in a military conflict as a mercenary.
