MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Su-30SM2 fighter jets and Sukhoi Su-24M frontline bombers of the Russian Baltic Fleet's naval aviation have delivered high-precision bombing strikes on ground targets during a flight tactical exercise, the Baltic Fleet press service said in a statement on Friday.
"Following ground situation reconnaissance, the aircraft flew to the designated area and bombed full-scale targets with 500-kilogram FAB-500 air bombs with explosive warheads, 250-kilogram FAB-250ShL fragmentation air bombs, and OFAB-250-270 fragmentation air bombs," the statement said.
The aircraft drilled bombing at altitudes ranging from 900 meters to 2,000 meters and at a speed of up to 1,000 kilometer per hour at a target area on an air firing range in the eastern part of the Kaliningrad region, it said. The aircraft also performed combat maneuvers and dodged mock enemy fighter jets and air defenses, it said.
The aircraft also fire guns, drill maneuvering during air combat, and engaging targets amid the mock enemy's using jamming devices at daytime and at nighttime during the exercise, which lasts several days, it said.
The exercise involved more than 15 aircraft and more than 300 personnel of the mixed regiment of the Baltic Fleet's naval aviation, the press service said.
