NATO secretary general to visit Estonia next week

TALLINN. Oct 18 (Interfax) - NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will arrive in Estonia on a two-day visit on October 22, the Estonian government press service said on Friday.

Rutte will meet with Estonian President Alar Karis and Prime Minister Kristen Michal on Tuesday to discuss cooperation on strengthening the alliance's defense capacity, the Estonian government said.

Ruttte will meet with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on Wednesday before going to the Tapa military camp together with Karis for a meeting with NATO member countries' military units stationed there.

Rutte formally took office as NATO secretary general on October 1, when his predecessor Jens Stoltenberg's 10-year tenure was over.
