Governments of Russia, UAE to address decline in bilateral trade - Putin

MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had agreed with his UAE counterpart Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to task both governments with addressing a decline in bilateral trade observed over the first seven months of 2024.

"We had the pleasure to meet with Mr. President in an informal atmosphere last night, talk about every sensitive aspect of our cooperation, and address matters that require our special attention, as despite the threefold increase in bilateral trade over the past three years, we saw a certain downward correction in the past seven months. Hence, we have agreed that our colleagues will work on these issues separately, and we have such an opportunity today," Putin said at the start of the negotiations.
