MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army lost over 280 troops in the Kursk sector in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall casualties in that area to more than 25,000, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"Over the past day, the Ukrainian army lost over 280 troops, 13 pieces of armored hardware, including three tanks three infantry fighting vehicles, among them a U.S.-made Bradley, and seven armored combat vehicles, as well as three artillery systems, six trucks, and an EW station," the ministry said.
Three Ukrainian troops surrendered, it said.
"Since the start of hostilities in the Kursk sector, the enemy has lost 25,943 troops, 175 tanks, 92 infantry fighting vehicles, 103 armored personnel carriers, 989 armored combat vehicles, 681 trucks, 224 artillery systems, and 38 multiple rocket launchers, among them nine HIMARS and six MLRS made in the U.S.," the ministry said.
Nine air-defense missile launchers, five transporter-loaders, 55 EW stations, 11 counterbattery radars, three air defense radars and 22 engineering and other vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have also been destroyed, it said.
"The operation to eliminate Ukrainian Armed Forces detachments is continuing," the ministry said.
