KAZAN. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The relations between Russia and Iran are "on the rise," Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"We recently had a very substantive and, I believe, useful conversation in Ashgabat and reviewed the main aspects of bilateral cooperation and the most pressing regional matters. Most importantly, we reaffirmed our mutual course for strengthening our ties in every possible way. They are on the rise and are truly friendly and constructive," Putin said at a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday.
The achieved results will soon be enshrined in a new major interstate treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Iran, Putin said.
"We are grateful that you have accepted the invitation to pay a separate visit to our country in order to sign this document and other important documents in a solemn atmosphere," Putin said.
