Russia-N. Korea cooperation in military, other areas does not harm S. Korea - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Moscow and Pyongyang are collaborating in military and other areas in line with international law and this does not cause damage to South Korea, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

"The North Korean troops, the North Korean Armed Forces exist, and where they are stationed, please, make it clear, in Pyongyang. These are their Armed Forces," she said at a press briefing.

In particular, Zakharova was responding to a journalist's request to comment on the statements made by the South Korean authorities and the Pentagon chief that North Korea had allegedly sent its military to Russia.

"In general, it is unclear why South Korea has stirred up such a frenzy. [...] Russia's interaction with North Korea in the military sector and in other areas, first of all, complies with international law and does not violate it, and secondly, does not cause any harm, damage or loss to South Korea," Zakharova said.
