Yerevan-Baku peace process may be discussed at summit in Nov - Armenian PM

YEREVAN. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The COP29 summit in Baku in November is a chance to discuss the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"I believe, and this is our position, that COP29 is a good reason for us to focus on problems in the region, on the peace process [between Yerevan and Baku], on the stability and development of the region," Pashinyan said at a government hour meeting in the parliament.

In June, Pashinyan's press secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan said that Pashinyan would not attend the COP29 summit in Baku.

In October, Armenian parliament's foreign affairs commission head Sargis Khandanyan told reporters that Pashinyan proposed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to sign a peace agreement before the COP29 summit.
