KAZAN. Oct 24 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army's retrievable and irretrievable losses have totaled around 26,000 troops in Russia's Kursk region over the past month alone, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Their retrievable and irretrievable losses totaled already around 26,000 [troops] in the Kursk sector over the past month alone," Putin said at a press conference in Kazan.
The Ukrainian army has lost around 16,000 troops during the so-called counteroffensive last year, he said.
The Ukrainian army has already lost more military hardware in the Kursk sector than it lost during last year's counteroffensive, he also said.
"I'm afraid I might be wrong, but around 18,000 pieces of military hardware, now this is almost one thousand more. Yet, they have lost almost a hundred fewer tanks, but I think they were simply used less, because there are fewer of them in the Ukrainian army," Putin said.
