Unidentified assailants attack Russian guardsmen in Chechnya, one officer killed - National Guard

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - One Russian National Guard officer has been killed and another one injured in an attack by unknown assailants in Chechnya, the Russian National Guard's press service said.

"Unidentified assailants attacked a military convoy in the suburbs of Grozny. The attack killed one serviceman and injured another one," the statement said.

The injured officer was taken to the hospital, where he is being provided with medical care, it added.

"Measures are being taken to find and detain the assailants," it said.
