Russian Security Council secretary to meet with UAE leadership in Abu Dhabi

MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has gone to the United Arab Emirates for talks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on further cooperation in international security, the Russian Security Council's office said.

"The Russian Security Council secretary will address international security and bilateral political, trade, economic and military-technical cooperation," the office told the press on Monday.

The interaction between Russian and UAE law enforcement and security services is on the agenda, it said.

"Shoigu pointed out that relations between the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates are of an exclusively trusting and partnership nature and have strategic importance for both states," the office said.

On September 11, Shoigu said that Moscow intended to bolster contacts with the UAE on the level of security councils.
