Attempts being taken to destabilize situation in Georgia after elections - Peskov

MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Attempts are being taken in Georgia to destabilize the situation after elections, while European forces are trying to influence the election outcome, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"It has been declared in public that attempts are being taken to destabilize the situation in the republic," Peskov said, as he commented on the Georgian president's call for protests against the parliamentary election results.

"Attempts to interfere are visible to the naked eye, but this is not being done by Russia. A huge number of forces from European states, various sorts of European institutions have tried to influence the voting outcome," he said.

"No one has even tried to hide this, those were public statements, in contrast to Moscow," Peskov said.

"We have not interfered in domestic Georgian affairs and do not plan to do it," he said.
