Russian Defense Ministry: Northern group of forces conducting offensive operations in Russia's Kursk region, 5 Ukrainian counterattacks repelled (Part 3)

MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Troops of Russia's northern group of forces have repelled five Ukrainian counterattacks in the Kursk sector towards the communities of Daryino and Novoivanovka over the past day and are conducting offensive operations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"Units of the group of forces repelled five enemy counterattacks towards the communities of Daryino and Novoivanovka," the statement said.

"Units of the northern group of forces continued conducting offensive operations," it said.

The northern group's forces struck units of 10 Ukrainian brigades near Daryino, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka and Plyokhovo. The Ukrainian army lost up to 60 troops killed and wounded, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored fighting vehicles and seven trucks were destroyed, it said.

Concentrations of troops and military hardware of 16 enemy brigades near Aleksandria, Viktorovka, Gogolevka, Guyevo, Daryino, Zelyony Shlyakh, Kazachya Loknya, Kruglenkoye, Kurilovka, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Mikhailovka, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Plyokhovo, Sverdlikovo, Sudzha, Tolsty Lug and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye have been struck in army aviation and artillery strikes, it said.

The tactical aviation and missile forces struck concentrations in the Sumy region and reserves of nine Ukrainian brigades near Basovka, Belovody, Vladimirovka, Varachino, Zhuravka, Korchakovka, Loknya, Miropolye, Obody, Osoyevka, Pavlovka and Yunakovka, it said.

"The Russian Armed Forces are continuing operations to defeat the enemy group that has infiltrated the Kursk region," it said.

A Swedish-made armored personnel carrier (APC) of the Ukrainian army was destroyed in a border area of the Kursk region at the time of the Ukrainian forces' rotation, it also said.

"The servicemen of a reconnaissance unit of the northern group of forces using drones have identified the routes for the delivery of ammunition and food to the enemy in a border area of the Kursk region. The military group's scouts mined the routes of movement," it said.

The Ukrainian troops hit a mine while moving on a CV-90 APC in an attempt to carry out rotation at their positions, it said.

"The APC was destroyed in the blast, and the enemy's troops were hit as drones dropped munitions," it said.

The ministry published footage of a Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle hitting an anti-tank mine.
