VOLGOGRAD. Oct 31 (Interfax) - The Volgograd airport is working normally after a drone strike on the Volgograd region, the airport press service told Interfax.
"Everything is normal," an airport representative said.
Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov said earlier that three drones were intercepted and neutralized over the Krasnoarmeisky district of Volgograd and the village of Chervlyonoye in the Svetly Yar district in the small hours of Thursday. There are no casualties, and no damage was done to civilian and military facilities.
The Volgograd International Airport is operated by the Novaport holding. It has a terminal for domestic and international flights, a cargo terminal, and a 2.8-kilometer runway. Its capacity stands at 720 passengers per hour on domestic flights and 280 passengers per hour on international flights.
The Volgograd Airport served 1.57 million passengers in 2023, which was a record since 1992 and 12.6% more than in 2022.
