Operation against Ukrainian forces continuing in Kursk region - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The Russian northern group of forces is continuing the operation against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region, and 17 Ukrainian brigades have been hit over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, artillery and heavy flamethrowers hit troops and hardware of a tank brigade, six mechanized brigades, and three air assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as a marine brigade, four territorial defense brigades, and two National Guard brigades," the ministry said.

"Detachments of a mechanized brigade and a motorized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as three territorial defense brigades were struck in the Kharkov sector," it said.

In those sectors, Ukrainian forces lost over 2,810 troops, three tanks, eight infantry vehicles, a Stryker armored personnel carrier, two launchers of a HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket system, 38 artillery systems, and 114 trucks, the ministry said.
