Northern group of forces continues offensive in Kursk region, repels 4 Ukrainian counterattacks - Russian Defense Ministry (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - The Russian northern group of forces continued its offensive and repelled four Ukrainian counterattacks in the Kursk region over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

"Units from the northern group of forces continued their offensive and hit detachments of the 21st, 22nd, 41st and 115th Mechanized Brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd and 95th Air Assault Brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, and 112th and 129th Territorial Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Daryino, Leonidovo, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka and Plyokhovo," the ministry said in a statement.

The group repelled four Ukrainian counterattacks towards Kamyshovka and Novoivanovka and thwarted attempted Ukrainian attacks towards Daryino and Leonidovo, it said.

In that sector, Ukrainian forces lost up to 30 troops killed and wounded, the statement said.

"Army aviation and artillery hit concentrations of troops and hardware of the 21st, 41st, 47th and 61st Mechanized Brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd and 95th Air Assault Brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, 1st Special Ops Brigade, and 112th and 129th Territorial Defense Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as the 17th National Guard Brigade near Alexandria, Viktorovka, Guyevo, Daryino, Zelyony Shlyakh, Kazachya Loknya, Kolmakov, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martynovka, Makhnovka, Mirny, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Plyokhovo, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye," it said.

Russian tactical aircraft and missile forces hit concentrations of troops in the Sumy region and reserves of the 21st, 41st, 61st and 115th Mechanized Brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 95th Air Assault Brigade, and 129th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Basovka, Belovody, Vodolagi, Zhuravka, Loknya, Miropolye, Pavlovka and Khoten, it said.
