U.S. company charged with illegally exporting U.S. technology to Russia - Department of Justice

WASHINGTON. Nov 5 (Interfax) - U.S. company Eleview International Inc. and its top managers Oleg Nayandin and Vitaly Borisenko have been charged with illegally exporting American technology worth millions of dollars to Russia, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

"As alleged, the defendants - a Virginia company and two of its senior executives -conspired through three evasion schemes to circumvent the export restrictions imposed on Russia," U.S. Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew Olsen said.

According to the case materials, between March 2022 and June 2023, the company consolidated and forwarded goods to Russia by transshipping them through Turkey, Finland and Kazakhstan.

In the Turkey scheme, the defendants allegedly exported about $1.48 million worth of telecommunications equipment. In the Finland scheme, the defendants allegedly exported about $3.45 million worth of goods to Russia, as well as goods worth approximately $1.47 million in the Kazakhstan scheme.

If convicted, Nayandin and Borisenko face up to 20 years in prison.

The defendants' citizenship has not been disclosed.
