ASTANA. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and French President Emmanuel Macron have expressed concern about the impact of the conflict in Ukraine on the world economy and food security, a joint declaration on the strengthening of the strategic partnership said.
The presidents "expressed a serious concern about the situation in Ukraine, its humanitarian consequences and the impact on the world economy and food security of the most vulnerable states," the declaration, which was released by the Kazakh presidential press service on Tuesday, said.
Tokayev and Macron "reiterated their common aspiration to facilitate peace, security and stability at global and regional levels."
"[The parties] emphasized their unwavering commitment to international law and the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter, in particular, respect to the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and inviolability of the internationally recognized borders of all states and a peaceful resolution of disputes," the declaration said.
The declaration was adopted following Tokayev's state visit to France.
