MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election will not lead to an abrupt end of the Ukraine conflict, although it may influence certain decisions in this area, Federation Council deputy speaker Konstantin Kosachyov said.
"It would be very naive to think that peace in Ukraine will be much closer under Trump, as he promises," Kosachyov said on Telegram in the light of tentative results of the U.S. elections.
"There is only one simple solution to the Ukraine conflict: Russia's victory, which the United States does not want under any president. Other decisions are complex, although the United States is actually the one able to influence them, considering that both the Kiev and Brussels regimes depend on it," Kosachyov said.
